2014 Civic Trust Awards Winners Revealed

The 55th Annual Civic Trust Awards Ceremony was held on Friday 7th March at Blackpool Winter Gardens, supported by Blackpool Council and hosted by architect, writer and TV presenter George Clarke and Civic Trust Awards Managing Director Malcolm Hankey.

Malcolm Hankey said “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Blackpool Council and the Winter Gardens Trust for their support in hosting of the 2013 Civic Trust Awards Ceremony and Balfour Beatty for their generous sponsorship. Also a huge thanks to our assessors, all of whom volunteer for the role and give up their valuable time to assist us with the judging process. Projects are assessed on their architectural excellence, sustainability credentials, accessibility for all users and positive civic contribution. Once again, the judging process has been rigorous and all the winners thoroughly deserve their success.”

From 238 applications, 79 national and international projects were rewarded with a Civic Trust Award, Commendation or Community Recognition at the glittering ceremony.

In addition, 8 Special Awards were presented to projects that have demonstrated outstanding credentials in specific areas. The 2014 Special Award Winners are:
