Civic Trust AwardsCTA National Panel member, Professor Keith Bright, calls for further assistance from his inclusive design colleagues.
As many of you know, the annual Civic Trust Awards recognise outstanding projects that are making positive contributions to our Society. Over the last few years, many access and design professionals in organisations, such as the NRAC and the Access Association, have kindly given their time to participate in the assessment process. Their observations and feedback has been invaluable to the National Panel in making the final Award decisions.
It is because of the involvement of access professionals that the whole issue of inclusivity and accessibility has been raised from being something of interest to being an integral part of the assessment procedure.
The Civic Trust Awards needs your assistance again this year to ensure that this excellent progress continues.
If you have been involved in undertaking assessments in the past and are doing so again this year, please accept my thanks. If you have been involved in the past but have not yet confirmed your availability, please contact the Awards team as soon as possible. Your expertise is critical in ensuring that good practice is rewarded.
If you haven’t been involved at all, then why not consider it? You will be making a difference and helping to ensure that good projects, which place people and inclusivity at the heart of the design process, continue to receive the recognition they deserve.
