The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) is Government’s advisor on architecture, urban design and public space. CABE wants to set high aspirations for the design of streets as an integral part of the public space network. We believe that these spaces have economic, environmental and social benefits for communities. We know that the public do too: nine out of 10 people think the quality of public space affects their quality of life.
As such we are delighted to sponsor this year’s Streets Award. We see this Award as an opportunity to celebrate and learn from the very best in current street design and placemaking.
