Information about this winner

A cultural and artistic venue for the many communities living in the area, the Rich Mix sits on a difficult, tapering site.  The scheme remodels existing buildings and provides a new cinema block. The existing building has been over clad with large, boldly coloured, adjustable aluminium louvres. The interior architectural treatment is basic, with bare or painted concrete surfaces and exposed electrical trunking.  A well used facility, with a successful and vibrant café which brings the community together.
