D2 Assembly & LeisureOriginally designed by J A Hansom and constructed in the 1830’s, the town hall has been closed since 1996. This scheme comprises the repair and re-ordering of the interior of the Grade I listed building. The renovated building has doubtlessly made a major contribution to the civic life and appearance of the city. Access has been considerably improved, and the public foyers opened up, providing for the safe, dignified and comfortable enjoyment of all people using the Town Hall.
