A replacement for the former Grade II listed building, the new boathouse shows good form and structure. It is a beautiful and simple scheme and utilises appropriate materials. The design reflects the shell of a boat, and includes changing rooms and clubhouse. With a copper roof, the building is eyecatching, with clean lines. Flooding of the site is an issue and has been simply addressed by raising the structure on “stilts”. A strikingly designed building in an attractive location.
