C1 Hotels & HostelsBuilt in 1830 as an observatory and folly, the tower was derelict from the 1930s until 2007. Previously at risk from coastal erosion, the tower has been dismantled, moved 25 metres inland and restored for holiday letting. The small internal spaces within this historic folly have been imaginatively used to provide attractive accommodation. The structure has been rebuilt on new foundations, and all materials used in the restoration have been reclaimed or locally sourced. The tower is a significant feature in the landscape and can be seen for miles around. Its restoration has aroused considerable local interest and has also attracted visitors from all over the country. The careful restoration of this landmark building has preserved this historic folly for the next hundred or two hundred years
