Information about this scheme
5 Pancras Square places the Council at the heart of the largest regeneration project in Europe, offering extensive public facilities with the Council’s own administration. Swimming pools, a gym, library, café and public-facing Council services on four levels are combined with ten floors of Council office space in an integrated, highly-sustainable building. It achieved the highest BREEAM Outstanding score for a UK building of its type. In doing so it enabled the Council to significantly improve face-to-face services, enhance flexibility and productivity, implement changes to working practices and deliver substantial operational cost savings. The building achieves a bold definition of public space, in keeping with the scale of its surroundings and its design responds to the varied context, taking advantage of expansive views across London through its rational, well-detailed facades and the use of robust high-quality materials.
