Information about this scheme

Timekeepers Square is a development of 36 contemporary townhouses that sit into the conservation area context of Chapel Street, Salford. The scheme creates a unique new place, that is sensitive to the heritage of the area by using an architectural response that is restrained and considered and matching that with urban design and new landscape design principles. The scheme reinstates lost urban grain, creates a distinctive new place and supports the development of a new urban community. It is part of a major regeneration initiative breathing new life into the heart of Salford. The quality of the masterplan ensures that the development contributes to the quality of the wider area, creating enhanced public routes and public spaces using high quality hard and soft landscape treatment.  The quality of the design creates a mix of tenure and property types in a style that respects the setting of the Conservation Area whilst providing contemporary, high quality dwellings to meet modern living standards. Throughout the development process, the client worked closely within the Salford community to generate long-lasting relationships and to integrate the new homes into the area. Activities included: Sponsoring numerous community events, developing an on-going partnership with St Philips Primary School, supporting the iconic Salford Lads’ and using local suppliers. The scheme forms part of wider regeneration plans to create a thriving, distinctive neighbourhood high street with independent, shops, cafes, and businesses. Timekeepers Square provides a diversified economic base that will contribute to the growth of this high street, and supports the long-term viability of local businesses.
