Information about this scheme

Torquay House is owned by LHA London (formerly the London Hostels Association), a charity and leading provider of affordable accommodation in the heart of London. Founded in 1940 to provide accommodation for people left homeless following the Blitz, it is a Registered Charity and its objective is to provide accommodation at reasonable cost to people who are either in employment or enrolled in a college/university course. It provides accommodation for 157 young working people and students, most in 'microflats' and others in ensuite rooms sharing kitchen/dining rooms. The building includes shared social spaces, gym, laundry and other facilities to provide a convivial and attractive living environment. The facilities provide an excellent living environment for students and young working people, helping them to establish themselves in careers at an age when many are struggling to cope with high living costs in the capital.
